Anyone interested in modern architecture will eventually find themselves planning a trip to Brazil’s capital city of Brasilia. Surprisingly, for a country with such ancient history, the capital is less than fifty years old! This is because it was a long-planned undertaking, requiring the efforts of determined leadership.
Brasília, the capital of Brazil, designed by most famous architect Oscar Niemeyer, was built in two thousand days. Inaugurated by President Juscelino Kubitschek on April 21st, 1960, Brasilia is the best known among the cities that were planned during the 20th century. It is still considered one of the most modern capital in the world.
